Pycnogenol® Info

Pycnogenol is the trade name of a powerful antioxidant nutrient that comes from the bioflavonoid family of compounds. It is primarily made from the bark of the Maritime Pine in France, from a highly bioactive substance called proanthocyanidins which is Pycnogenol® active ingredient.

Pycnogenol, in use since 1853, as a health supplement, is a proven free radical scavenger and is 50 times more potent than Vitamin E and 20 times more potent than Vitamin C against free radicals according to European researchers. 

Free radicals are byproducts formed in our bodies and are harmful to cells. Pycnogenol not only has strong anti-aging effects, it also enhances other anti-oxidants such as Vitamins and Selenium. It is quickly absorbed in the skin and is retained for as long as 72 hours while it neutralizes free radicals and prevents oxidation. This results in slowing the effects of aging; improving circulation and strengthening the immune system.

Pycnogenol® is used in our refirming skin cream called Revive, Remove, Dark Circles Eye Cream and K-Cream. Pycnogenol® adds the following additional benefits;

• Multiplies collagen (a skin protein) and elastin binding, improving skin smoothness and elasticity.
